As a family photographer, my goal is to make your session feel fun and capture your family just as it is right now in this season of your life. We typically start off with some traditional posing but after we get that out of the way I like to let the kids lead the session for the most part. I strive to create beautiful images by capturing the natural connection and authentic moments you share with your family during our time together.
Kind words from Nikki:
What was your favorite part of your family session?
My favorite part of our session was how flexible and easy everything was and that's all thanks to Mikenna. I think being a mom herself, she knows that this could go so many ways and was so calm and easy going. I had two kids (1.5 and 3.5) both who didn't nap, it was 40 degrees but still cold - the wayssss this could have failed were endless. But she just went with the flow, directed when she could but otherwise let it unfold and worked with her subjects rather than vice versa. It was such a relief to be with someone who was cool with candids (and looking for Ariel) and ok with watching it play out rather than stress about hitting certain poses/positions but keeping us all in check at the same time.
Was the session experience different than you expected?
With photos I never come with expectations. I always go in saying all we need are 3 good ones guys! But it was great!
Which of the images in your gallery were your favorite?
My favorite images are always the natural, candid ones but if you asked me which are my favorite from this gallery I couldn't answer that because I currently have 40 starred and struggling to choose which to print!
